The area

The Galilee starts at the front door

Moshava Migdal was founded more than a century ago on the slope above the Sea of Galilee, between Mount Arbel and the Ginosar valley. From here, almost everywhere in the Lower Galilee is a short drive away.

Nature & trails

  • Mount Arbel and the Arbel cliff

A nature reserve and national park rising above the village. The lookout takes in the whole lake, and for a challenge the cliff trail descends with metal handholds past ancient cave fortresses. Best at sunrise or towards sunset.

  • Nahal Amud

One of the most beautiful streams in the Galilee, running down from the hills to the lake. Trails for every level, with shade, water and picnic spots.

  • Kinneret Trail

A walking and cycling trail around the lake. The stretches near Migdal and Ginosar make an easy morning walk along the water.

  • Sea of Galilee beaches

Organised and wild beaches a short drive away, for swimming, kayaking and sunset on the water.

Heritage & history

  • Tabgha, Capernaum and the Mount of Beatitudes

Well-known Christian heritage sites along the northern shore of the lake.

  • Tiberias

The lakeside promenade, the old city and Hamat Tiberias National Park with its hot springs.
